I've been interested in medicine since childhood, as I observed my rheumatologist mother making an impact on her patients' lives. I, too, sought to balance my passions for people and science, and when I discovered obstetrics and gynecology, I knew I'd found my place in medicine.

I'm drawn to the wide array of conditions that ob-gyns manage, the ability to provide both preventive and specialty care, and the use of both medical and surgical treatments to promote health. I seek to uphold women's autonomy and to promote their well-being, so they may pursue the best lives for themselves and their families.

My approach to healthcare centers around listening to women and collaborating with them as a team to create a treatment plan. I remind myself that while I may have training in an individual's condition, only she is the expert in living in her body.

I grew up in Charlotte and went to grade school through high school here, and I love our ever-evolving city. My husband and I have a son, and we adopted a dog and have raised two cats that were born in our backyard! We love spending time outdoors and traveling together as a family when we're able
