Dr. Danielle Rooney is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology from The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, and completed her residency in the department of OB/GYN at Albany Medical College. Dr. Rooney began her studies at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT, earning a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science.

Prior to joining Community Care Physicians, Dr. Rooney worked in a private practice that offered obstetrics, gynecology, and midwifery care. She enjoys healthcare because, despite the challenges, frustrations, and sacrifices, she believes it always continues to be a very rewarding profession above all else.

Dr. Rooney chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology because she enjoyed the continuity with her patients. She appreciated the relationships you build with patients and being involved in a special event in their lives. Dr. Rooney also enjoys her specialty being a mixture of health maintenance, procedures, and minimally invasive surgery. She enjoys being able to see patients through all stages of their lives and the privilege of being allowed to be involved in very personal and intimate aspects of their lives. Dr. Rooney is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.

In her spare time, Dr. Rooney enjoys spending time with her family and being outside, skiing in the winter, and boating in the summer. She has two children and two dogs.

Reddit Testimonial (r/childfree)

Procedure performed: bilateral salpengectomy personal info: 23 year old woman, unmarried and no children short statement: I never once felt judged or experienced any bingos from anyone I interacted with at this office. Dr. Rooney herself was supportive of it being my choice, only asking once if I was positive of this decision, understood it would result in permanent sterilization, and that nobody was forcing me into it. The procedure itself was performed at Bellevue Women’s Center, which I add because the only bingo I experienced during this process was from the (male) anesthesiologist there who came in prior to the procedure for consent (he was not the actual anesthesiologist for the procedure).
