I was born and raised in a small town in Idaho, just outside the state capitol. I attended the College of Idaho for my bachelor’s degree. For medical school and residency, I went to the University of Washington in Seattle, where I received an award for excellence in resident teaching. There, I also met my husband. After living in Houston while he finished training, we set our hearts on moving to Honolulu.
About my practice
A desire to contribute to the health and well-being of my communities led me to seek a career as a physician. Working with women of all ages—mothers, daughters, grandmothers—is truly inspiring. It’s an incredible privilege to be trusted to care for them at some of the most intimate, vulnerable, and life-changing times of their lives. My professional interests include contraceptive counseling, complex prenatal care, colposcopy, minimally invasive surgery, patient advocacy, and medical education.
I love hearing about where patients are from and where they’ve traveled—even if it’s only to the other side of the island! Understanding where they are today allows me to better guide their future health journeys. Prenatal visits are among my favorite patient interactions, as so much education takes place during these visits.
It’s great to be part of a large group practice that provides current, evidence-based treatments, professional development, and helpful support staff. This allows physicians to give all of their attention to their patients.
How I thrive
I like to spend time outdoors with my husband, daughter, and our large labradoodle. We love the challenge of a good hike, the colors while snorkeling, and the sand at the beach. Watching my daughter grow in this beautiful community and help her develop into the curious individual she is motivates me to be mindful and present. My other hobbies include learning recipes and cooking skills, traveling, and orchids.
