Dr. Tamika Alexander completed her residency here and wanted to stay at UI Health largely because of its commitment to ending health disparities. Over the next few years, Dr. Alexander plans to improve health literacy among the underserved populations she cares for by educating them about women’s health. She also co-authored the article “Ambulatory Arrhythmia Monitoring in Pregnant Patients with Palpitations,” published in the American Journal of Perinatology, which examined the frequency of rhythm disturbances in pregnant women following placement of a Holter monitor or an ERT. Dr. Alexander is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, National Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.
