Amber Darr, MD is originally from Houston, Texas and began her education at the University of Texas where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then returned to Houston where she earned her Doctor of Medicine at McGovern Medical School. After graduation she joined much of her family in Dallas where she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center. She earned multiple accolades, her favorite of which is her resident teaching award.
Dr. Darr is a board eligible OBGYN physician who is a member of multiple professional societies including the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and the Association of Women Surgeons through which she provides mentorship to other women in medicine. She chose to pursue a career in OBGYN due to her passion for primary care, surgery, and patient relationships all while getting to empower women through healthcare. She is a robotically trained surgeon who offers a range of surgeries including minimally invasive, in office, and open abdominal procedures. She provides services for women in all walks of life including well woman care, contraception, basic infertility, ovarian pathology, and abnormal pap smears. She enjoys both high risk and routine obstetrics including VBACs and natural childbirth.
Outside of the office, Dr. Darr is a self-proclaimed foodie who loves to garden, take art classes, have picnics at the Arboretum, and is always planning her next travel destination with her husband.
