Reproductive freedom for all ♀

About

Gynecologic problems in infants and children are uncommon. Patients and their parents are often scared by these conditions, even when they are simple and straight forward. I enjoy working closely with young patients and their families to navigate these situations. Puberty is a physically, emotionally and socially turbulent time in a girl's life. The massive changes that occur in a girl's body can be confusing and stressful. It is critical for a young woman's first visit with the gynecologist to be a warm, welcoming and safe environment. I believe this first interaction sets the stage for a young woman's future attitude toward reproductive health care. Helping a teen understand the changes in her body empowers her to embrace this transition and become an active participant in her reproductive health care throughout her life. I care for girls and women with congenital anomalies and disorders of sexual development throughout their lifetime.

I returned to New York after my fellowship and joined an academically affiliated private practice. I moved to the bay area with my family in 2014. I was attracted to the Oakland Medical Center because the division and integrated health system provide unparalleled support to physicians, allowing me to focus on providing excellent care to my patients. I am surrounded by warm, collaborative and smart colleagues everyday. I enjoy teaching the Ob/Gyn residents and exposing them to the unique gynecologic conditions in the pediatric population. Additionally, I am continually impressed at how patients also feel supported by Kaiser Permanente and are enabled to take advantage of the healthcare services that are available to them.

My special interests are: congenital reproductive anomalies, abnormal puberty, disorders of sexual development, endometriosis, labia hypertrophy, menstrual dysfunction, ovarian masses, vulvar conditions, contraception, minimally invasive surgery and first gynecology visits. I believe in a multi-disciplinary approach to patients with complicated medical issues.

I strive to communicate effectively with you and your other physicians to provide you with the best and most comprehensive care.

I look forward to working with you and your family!

Despite my age and childless status,no bingos, just asked if I was sure, and then helped me set up an appointment for the surgery! Super sweet lady. Surgery was about 7mo ago now & scarring is minimal (only 2 where the incisions were). I was back at my office job by the end of the week (albeit medicated).
