About

I was born in New Jersey, and raised in Bethesda, Maryland. However, after spending the next 16 years in Chicago, I consider the windy city my hometown. I am a graduate of the University of Chicago. After graduating from Northwestern University Medical School in 1994, I completed my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. I enjoyed working in a group practice at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for over four years.

In early 2003, I had the opportunity to move to the Bay Area to join Kaiser Permanente. For over 20 years, I have embraced Kaiser Permanente’s model of care. I truly believe in the power of preventive care and healthy living to guide patients from young adulthood, through pregnancy, and into menopause. In 2011, I elected to steer away from Labor and Delivery duties to focus on minimally-invasive gynecology surgery. Although I miss delivering babies, I still enjoy caring for pregnant patients in the office, guiding them through their 9-month journey.

My passion lies in gynecologic surgery, specifically laparoscopic and vaginal approaches to hysterectomy and laparoscopic ovarian surgery. I find surgery a challenging and rewarding way to help my patients.

Roles and Responsibilities

In addition to my clinical work in the office and operating room, I am a Communication Consultant. In this role, I use my years of experience as a clinician and educator to teach workshops and assist fellow colleagues and staff on improving clinician-patient communication.

Hobbies and interests

I try to model health and wellness outside of work. I find exercise, sleep, down time, and positivity extremely important. In my free time, you can find me taking exercise classes. I also enjoy baking and interior decorating. I especially value my Wednesdays off and vacations with my husband, young-adult children, and extended family.
