Andrea Benton, MD, FACOG, is a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon and is certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and her fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center.
Following fellowship, Dr. Benton has focused her career on the care of patients with complex gynecologic diagnoses using both robotic and laparoscopic techniques. She cares for women with diagnosis such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, uterine polyps, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine malformations, and tubal anomalies. She performs fertility-preserving surgery in the management of fibroids and endometriosis, and she has had extensive training in excision surgery for endometriosis. She has a passion for patient-centered care and aims at improving the patient experience.
Dr. Benton has published multiple articles on surgical technique, endometriosis, and patient care. Topics include endometriosis and the appendix, robotic surgery, postoperative pain control, abdominal wall endometriosis, and ovarian remnants. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
