Dr. Gutierrez graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She then earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Gutierrez is trained in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Electronic Fetal Monitoring. She has also received training in the da Vinci Surgery method, which is a minimally invasive robotic surgical technique to diagnose and treat gynecologic and fertility issues, such as endometriosis and uterine fibroids.
As an assistant to the Office of Academic Enhancement at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Dr. Gutierrez shared her expertise with the next generation of doctors. She instructed first year medical students and continues to seek out academic and research opportunities.
Proficient in Spanish, Dr. Gutierrez volunteered with International Service Learning, providing medical care to underserved populations in Nicaragua. Dr. Gutierrez also served the community with prenatal care for incarcerated patients at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
Dr. Gutierrez belongs to numerous medical societies, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. the American Medical Association and the American Medical Women’s Association.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, reading fiction and running.
