About

I was born in El Salvador, but consider myself a "California native" since I was raised here in the Bay Area. I completed my undergraduate training at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning my Bachelor of Science in Physiological Sciences. I then went on to attend medical school at Stanford University School of Medicine, graduating in 2004. I joined Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara for my residency and was thrilled to stay on as full-time staff in 2008. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you with your healthcare needs.

My practice philosophy includes striving to provide culturally appropriate care to our very diverse set of patients, and I am dedicated to caring for the underserved. I am fully fluent in Spanish and enjoy taking care of my patients in their native language. Additionally, I am a strong proponent of minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and vaginal surgery), as well as preventive medicine for women.

Female. Dr. Leiva (Kaiser) was my surgeon for my bilateral salpingectomy and she was great! Never once questioned or even brought up why I wanted this procedure; she answered all my questions and concerns about the actual surgery and was very nice.
