Reproductive freedom for all ♀

About

Hello and welcome to my web page! I am a general obstetrician and gynecologist with a special interest in teaching, public health, and reproductive justice. I welcome patients of all backgrounds and languages. In addition to English I speak some Vietnamese and Spanish. As a full scope general OBGYN, I am able to provide routine annual well woman or preventative care, address any gynecologic issues including performing benign gynecologic procedures or surgery, providing contraception, abortion, and last but not least- pregnancy care!

I was raised in the Bay Area by wonderful parents who were Vietnamese refugees and spoke little English. In helping my family culturally navigate the education and health system, I developed a passion for both teaching and healthcare. As a physician I now enjoy providing care to immigrant and diverse communities. My goal is to make sure that my patients fully understand the care they are receiving. I use a lot of visual aids and drawings in the process.

I completed my OBGYN residency at University of California San Diego where I served in leadership roles promoting physician advocacy and anti-racism efforts. I completed medical school at UC Davis, and obtained my public health degree at Harvard, focusing on social determinants and maternal and child health. Now, I am thrilled to be working at Kaiser Oakland!

Dr. Diana Ha in Oakland, CA – performed laparoscopic bilateral salpingectomy on me age 22, no spouse or children. Very kind, good consult and just made sure I understood the procedure, no bingos, asked for my pronouns. Wonderful experience overall with very smooth healing and great follow-up from her. I asked her about procedure codes and she was happy to work with me to code it so insurance would cover it best. I ended up with just a $30 copay for the pathology report.
