I decided to become an Ob-Gyn because of the desire to care for women throughout their lives. Helping women make important and educated decisions about their health is a privilege. I enjoy being an advocate for womens' health. From helping young women through their first pelvic exam to guiding women through their first pregnancies, from delivering babies to helping women with a complicated gynecologic issue in the office, and from counseling women to performing their surgeries, it is an honor and a joy to provide care for women at every stage of their lives.
I was born in San Francisco, CA and grew up in Hillsborough, CA. I attended UCLA for my BS in Psychobiology, and then moved back to San Francisco, where I did research at UCSF for several years. Interested in living outside of California, I went to the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL for medical school and graduated in 2007. I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU in New York, NY in 2011 and then moved back to the Bay Area to be close to family while raising my own family. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011, and was excited to join a group that placed such great emphasis on preventative healthcare and coordination of patient care. I believe in working together with my patient, as a team, to help her make the right healthcare choices.
While I enjoy all aspects of Obstetrics & Gynecology, my special interests include general prenatal care, menstrual irregularities, minimally invasive surgery, care for adolescents, family planning, and treatment of cervical dysplasia. I also enjoy teaching and work closely with our residents and medical students. I am a board certified member of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. I speak some medical Spanish.
Family and Friends
My husband and I have three young children who keep us on our toes and who make every day a new and wonderful adventure. We love to cook together, go on walks in our neighborhood and hikes in the Santa Cruz mountains, and enjoy all that the Bay Area has to offer. When I'm not working, I love learning new crafts, like knitting, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. We love to travel whenever possible, and are always looking for new camping spots each summer!
