For context, I am a 21 year-old woman, unmarried, and do not have any children of my own, nor do I want any as I am staunchly childfree. My first appointment with her was for a well-women exam, not a sterilization consultation, but I decided to mention wanting a bilateral salpingectomy anyway. I didn’t expect her to be so supportive of it, but she said, “You’ve clearly given this a lot of thought and I trust you know what’s best for yourself. After the exam I’ll go print out the consent form and let’s see if we can get you scheduled.” No bingos, no judgment. I had my salpingectomy on the 24th! She’s the best and I just know she will help so many others get their surgeries.
