About

Dr. Krishna Kakani is a Board-Certified OBGYN who has been serving the women and families of Huntsville, AL, and the surrounding communities for 37 years. Dr. Kakani graduated from Maris Stella College and Guntur Medical School in India in 1979. Shortly after, she moved to the United States and completed a rotating internship at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Birmingham, AL, followed by her OB/GYN residency at Savannah Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Prior to starting her Huntsville, AL, practice in 2016, Dr. Kakani worked with UAB School of Medicine and Tennessee Valley OB/GYN. Dr. Kakani recently retired from Obstetrics after delivering over 10,000 babies, but she continues to practice as a Gynecologist meeting the women’s health needs of her patients. Dr. Kakani strives to develop relationships with her patients and treating all with mutual respect and kindness.

Dr. Kakani is a fellow of ACOG/ABOG, a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and a member of the Madison County Medical Society. She loves serving her community and donates her time at the Huntsville Community Clinic as well as working with students and residents of UAB School of Medicine.

She and her husband have two children. When she is not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Kakani enjoying meditation, walking, gardening and cooking for her friends and family. She also serves as a Sunday school teacher at Bala Vihar. Dr. Kakani values the local communities, and she prioritizes donating to various non-profit organizations across North Alabama.
