Dr. Barnes is an AAGL fellowship-trained, board certified gynecological surgeon who specializes in benign reproductive surgery utilizing minimally invasive techniques. As an expert in her field, she treats the full scope of gynecologic surgical and pelvic pain issues, including fibroids, endometriosis care, excision surgery for endometriosis pain and infertility, Muellerian anomalies, Asherman’s syndrome, essure-related pain, and the management of complex pelvic pain disorders.
Dr. Barnes has conducted research related to improving racially disparate surgical outcomes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, has published many articles, and presented her work at national venues with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG,) and the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons (SGS).
Dr. Barnes’ goal is to work with patients using a shared medical decision-making model to collectively create a medical and surgical plan that is deeply aligned with the patient’s personal treatment goals and supported by the medical literature and best-practice guidelines.
