Dr. Elise Simpson, DO in Novi, Michigan. I’ve been seeing her since I (24F, CF, with partner for 8 years but not married) was 19 and she’s so great! Performed my laparoscopic bilateral salpingectomy and a removal and replacement of my Nexplanon at my request, which took place at Lakes Surgery Center in West Bloomfield, Michigan. ZERO bingos, simply explained the procedure, emphasized it’s permanent and I would need IVF if I changed my mind, but didn’t ask for a laundry list of reasons why I wanted it. I originally asked for it when I was 21, but couldn’t get it done due to my own schedule (university, internship, etc) and she was still supportive. I asked again about it at my annual in Nov ’24, I called Jan ’25 to schedule the procedure, got my appointment for one month later. After insurance, I had to pay $1.4k out of pocket. I’m writing this about 12 hours after the procedure, just feeling very sore and honestly, the Nexplanon is causing more discomfort than the bisalp!
