What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I wanted to become a health care provider as I have always had a desire to help others. During my medical school clinical rotations, I was immediately drawn to the field of OB/GYN.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
There is no “typical day” in the life of an OB/GYN. There is enough variety to keep me energized and enthusiastic about my work. OB/GYNs have the distinct privilege of providing comprehensive care to women throughout their lifetime and are able to form meaningful relationships with them at all phases of their lives, from puberty to pregnancy to menopause. There is still no better experience in medicine than getting to take part in a delivery!
How do you connect with your patients?
I try to connect with my patients on a personal level first and foremost so that I can provide individualized care. I take the time to listen to each and every patient in order to ensure that their specific needs are met to the best of my ability.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I enjoy spending time outside, especially in the summer months. In my spare time, I can be found reading a good book or trying out a new local restaurant.
What is your advice for your patients?
I encourage my patients to stay up to date with their preventative screenings, vaccintations, and follow up with their primary care provider. I advise my patients to maintain healthy lifestyle habits including exercise.
