Halley Crissman, MD, MPH, FACOG is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michigan Medicine.
Dr. Crissman received her undergraduate degree at McGill University in Quebec, Canada before completing medical school and a Masters of Public Health at the University of Michigan. She went on to complete her OBGYN residency training and advanced training in Family Planning at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Crissman has been recognized for excellence in teaching and patient-centered care. In 2017, she received the Galen's Society Golden Beeper award for excellence in medical student teaching, and a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Mini-Grant to create job-specific training videos to improve the care of transgender patients and visitors at Michigan Medicine. In 2018, Dr. Crissman was awarded the Evan Newport HOPE Award for exceptional commitment to patient- and family-centered care. In 2023, she was named a "Healthcare Hero" by Crain's Detroit for her work expanding access to high quality gender-affirming care.Outside of her work at Michigan Medicine, Dr. Crissman is an Associate Medical Director at Planned Parenthood of Michigan and their Director of Gender-Affirming Care. In addition to clinical care, Dr. Crissman is active in advocacy work at the state level with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
