Lakeside Women’s Hospital, Oklahoma City, OK. Performed laparoscopic bilateral salpingectomy for me. I am 26F, no children, unmarried but have a partner of 8 years. Agreed to do the procedure at my first appointment. Immediately offered to do my pap smear and pelvic exam under anesthesia since I had 3 previous painful and traumatic attempts and 1 painful and traumatic IUD attempt. I also said I didn’t want to be on birth control anymore and have known I don’t want kids for a long time. She offered to do sterilization while I was already going to be under anyway and we were able to get it all done in one go. Made sure I was aware it was a permanent and irreversible procedure. No pushback or quizzing me at all on her part, just complete support for my decision.
