Always talk to the physician. When I first went into the office, I had to see a nurse practitioner, who told me I had to be 21 for sterilization. In November I decided I would ask the surgeon herself. She didn’t ask me any questions about whether or not I had children, or a spouse, just went over alternative options (as she was required to). I was sterilized just over a month after my consult.
