Dr. Nicole Kruppa (pronounced crew-PUH) realized medicine was her calling while an Oregon State University undergraduate. She heard how a student to whom she taught CPR and lifeguarding pulled his sister from the water and saved her life. “It would be a pivotal moment for me, as that story made me realize I wanted to become a doctor.”
She became an obstetrician-gynecologist because she enjoys the blend of medicine and surgery. “I instantly felt a connection with female patients and passionate about the care specific to obstetrics-gynecology. I love helping women through their obstetrical experience, which culminates in one of the most exciting days of life – childbirth.”
Patient autonomy is important to Dr. Kruppa, and she strives hard to not just treat obstetric and gynecologic patients, but to also educate them about their conditions so they make the best decisions about their care.
“The patient and I are a team in which we both contribute to the quality of care they expect to receive. My patients can expect me to be courteous, respectful and empathetic. They can also expect me to be thorough, forthcoming and dedicated to their care. These are things I would expect of my doctor and these are traits I strive to bring to my job every day.”
She and her family enjoy cooking, traveling, scuba diving and skiing, running and outdoor activities.
“I want to be an advocate for patient health and an educator.”
Dr. Kruppa offers a full range of obstetrical and gynecological services, including preventive care, surgical management, and family planning.
As a gynecologic surgeon, she combines evidence-based clinical medicine with the latest surgical approaches to treat health problems with immediate results. She has extensive training and experience in minimally invasive surgery, including robotic-assisted surgery.
