About

Dr. Sara Gerhards is a Eugene native and alumnus of South Eugene High School, University of Oregon and OHSU Medical School. She joined Pacific Women’s Center after her residency, which she completed in Buffalo, New York. She feels fortunate to participate in helping women navigate their health through all stages of their lives.

When she is not working, Dr. Gerhards enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, hiking, cycling, cooking, making jewelry and binge-watching Netflix.

Dr. Gerhards advocates strongly for evidence-based health care and assisting women to have the birth experience that they desire. Women have the right and ability to make informed decisions and Dr. Gerhards feels privileged to be on this journey with her patients. Dr. Gerhards is excited about the roll-out of the low-intervention birth model and is excited for her patients who are interested in this option.

Dr. Sara is held in “high” regard as she has climbed to the summit of Mt. Hood and most of the tallest peaks in Oregon!

(541) 896-1443. This gynecologist has reached out directly to advise, “I would be happy to assist anyone in the desire to not reproduce for whatever reason. Your gender identity, number of previous pregnancies, and age are not relevant; as long as you can legally give consent. And yes, appropriate counseling is needed. This “counseling” means you and I have one conversation so I can document that you are the one making this decision, you are not be coerced, and you understand the details, risks, implications, and benefits of the procedure. Counseling does not mean you need to see a therapist. The counseling is for insurance and legal- it is NOT you convincing me you are able to make a decision for your body! Let me know if I can help!
