About

Dr. Newman joined Meritas Health Pavilion For Women in August 2007. She was born and raised in Kansas City and attended St. Teresa’s Academy for high school. She completed a bachelor of science in biology at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She then returned home and received her medical training at University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in June 2007.

Dr. Newman received an award from the Department of OB/GYN for outstanding resident at Truman Medical Center, she was an administrative chief resident, and received an academic award for highest CREOG score.

Dr. Newman and her husband, Dan, live in the Brookside area and have two children, Annabelle and William. When away from the office she and Dan enjoy running (especially half marathons and an occasional marathon), cooking, reading and traveling.

Dr. Newman’s professional interests include minimally invasive surgery, preconception and pregnancy care.

Dr. Newman is an active member in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Youngblood Society, and the Kansas City GYN Society.
