About

Seine Chiang, MD, is a gynecologic specialist and surgeon. As a UW professor and chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists Division, she provides expertise in the management of complex benign gynecologic issues including the full range of gynecologic surgery from minimally invasive surgery (vaginal, conventional laparoscopy, robotics) as well as open approach.

Dr. Chiang has served on faculty at UT Medical Branch, University of Alabama Birmingham, prior to her faculty appointment at University of Washington in 2006 where she served as the OBGYN Residency Director from 2007-2020. She has been board certified since 1996 and received ABOG Focused Practice in MIGS certification in 2022 when it became available. She is listed as “Best Doctors” in Seattle.  Nationally, Dr Chiang serves as a member of the ACGME OBGYN Review committee, ABOG Qualifying exam committee, and as an ABOG Certifying examiner, influencing the training and certification of OBGYN physicians in the U.S.

As the training director for the UW Dysplasia clinic and Gynecology clinics, Dr. Chiang’s practice is at the forefront of complex gynecologic care and surgery with a focus on minimally invasive surgery including robotics and the management of dysplasia,  abnormal pap smears, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic masses, fibroids, polyps, ovarian cysts and tumors. 

Dr. Chiang enjoys helping her patients make informed health-care decisions by providing them with the most current evidence-based information and range of management options regarding their gynecologic concerns.

Personal Interests

Dr. Chiang enjoys gardening with a focus on edible landscaping. Kombucha brewing, sourdough baking, jams and preserves, and pasta making are some of her passions.
